Ms. Charlene Gaston

Charlene Gaston is an experienced IT professional at OGSystems, where she provides security consulting services to clients to help find, fix, and prevent security vulnerabilities in Enterprise Systems. Her duties include threat mitigation, vulnerability testing, technical security assessment, troubleshooting networks, infrastructures, security software development lifecycle (S-SDLC) and network architecture designs.

Charlene lives in Upper Marlboro Maryland with her two teenagers, Charlisha who’s currently attending Morgan State University and Samuel who is a high school senior.

Experience

Charlene has been working in Information Assurance for over a decade and has participated and led several development projects. Her primary interest include the integration of security info system development life cycles, evaluating the business impact of information security, and the security of emerging technologies. Charlene is a contributing member of OGSystems AWS (Amazon Web Services) security community and has participated in several security projects.

Prior to joining OGSystems, Charlene was the Security Control Assessor and Designated Approving Authority at CACI, where she led the security team in monitoring security systems, providing consulting services on a wide variety of information assurance topics including evaluating security controls of information systems, analyzing security findings and data, monitoring security systems, and analyzing potential threats and vulnerabilities to client systems.

Professional Education and Credentials

Charlene is a native Washingtonian, she graduated from Suitland High school and attended Bowie State University where she received her BS in Business Management. Charlene continued her education receiving her Master’s Degree of Network Communication and Information Systems from DeVry University and Bowie State University. Charlene has several Information System Certifications: AWS Certified Developer Associate; AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Certified Block Chain, Certified Network Defender, Certified Information System Security Management, SAFe Agilest, Certified Ethical Hacker, Source Fire Intrusion Detection, Certified Risk Management, Network + Security+, and Advanced Security+. Charlene is a Member of Information System Audit and Control Association.

Charlene is currently focused on career progression and recently accepted a Government position for National Geospatial Agency as a Systems Engineer with a start date of March 2019.

Charlene is also a mentor to the youth and several peers, In addition to being an active member at her Church Galilee Baptist
